ecomaine’s ecofest is a celebration of the waste hierarchy in Maine: REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, COMPOST, WASTE-TO-ENERGY, and Landfilling as a last resort.
On Earth Day 2023 (Saturday, April 22), ecomaine will celebrate sustainability through reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting at ecofest, a community-oriented event with activities, giveaways, food, music, and more!
ecofest will have exhibitor and vendor tables with information and resources to help live more sustainably, giveaways and raffle prizes, recycling and compost bins, activities for kids of all ages, and food trucks! For those familiar with ecomaine’s annual Open House… It’ll be similar, but with a twist!
WHAT: ecofest, a celebration of sustainability in recycling and waste management
WHEN: Saturday, April 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
WHERE: Wescustogo Hall & Community Center, 120 Memorial Highway, North Yarmouth (a solar-powered facility!)
WHY: To celebrate Earth Day and the impact of the waste hierarchy – reduce, reuse, recycle, compost, waste-to-energy (and landfilling as a last resort) – on sustainable living in Maine
WHO: You! Adults and kids are all encouraged to join us! And, of course, ecomaine will be there, alongside some of our partners in landfill diversion, mascots from some of our local sports teams, and the PB&ME and Mainely Meatballs food trucks!
