Appreciating the People Who Make it Happen

January 21, 2025

At ecomaine, the driving force behind our success has always been our people. As CEO Kevin Roche puts it, “The employees make it happen.” It’s a sentiment that encapsulates what makes the solid waste and recycling industry so dynamic and fulfilling.

The solid waste industry is a unique space where there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re passionate about operations, maintenance, construction, environmental topics, hands-on work, or hands-off, there’s a role for you here. “The beauty of this industry is that whatever you’re interested in, the industry has something to offer,” Roche explains.

What makes ecomaine stand out is its ability to go beyond the limitations of brick-and-mortar facilities. While we take pride in the innovative operations at our waste-to-energy plant and recycling center, our mission doesn’t stop there. “We’re not bound by these four walls,” says Roche. “We can develop programs that extend far beyond the brick and mortar or the facilities that we own and operate.”

This vision is driven by our employees’ creativity and commitment to finding solutions that have a lasting impact. Through outreach programs, educational initiatives, and partnerships all around Maine, ecomaine is creating opportunities to connect with communities and expand sustainable practices.

It’s our employees who make all of this possible. Their dedication, innovation, and teamwork are the foundation for ecomaine’s success. As we look to the future, it’s clear that the solid waste industry is more than just a job; it’s a space where passions can thrive and ideas can take flight.

Whether you’re already a part of the ecomaine family or considering a career in the waste management sector, know this: the opportunities are endless, and the impact you can make is profound. At ecomaine, it’s the people who drive the mission forward and we’re excited to continue building a future shaped by innovation and collaboration.
