The City of Portland is hosting a free, family-friendly Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 18 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Deering Oaks Park by the Bandstand! Come learn about local climate initiatives, recreational opportunities, sustainable living tips, celebrate nature, and more.
Look for ecomaine among the lineup! We’ll be there with free recycling resources and our education team ready to chat about sustainable waste management in your community.
- Enjoy live music by the local psych rock jam band, Leaf
- Mend your clothes at the Powerful ARRMS table
- Drop in bike repair & education with Portland Gear Hub and Bicycle Coalition of Maine
- Meet your local farmers at the Portland Farmer’s Market
- Make your own seed bombs with Sierra Club Maine
- Plant wildflowers with O’Donals Nursery
- Face painting with Parks, Rec & Facilities team
- Learn more about composting with Garbage to Garden
- Eat lunch at a local food truck (Icelandic Hot Dogs, Empanada Club, Ugly Dumpling, and Fire & Company)
