"Wishcycling" - the practice of tossing materials in your recycling bin without knowing whether they are truly recyclable - has many impacts on the recycling process. From plastic grocery bags, to styrofoam, to loose bottle caps, and more, commonly "wishcycled" items are easy to come by, and confusing to dispose of properly. This presentation explores the ins and outs of recycling, the many impacts of wishcycling on the recycling process, a behind the scenes look at ecomaine's single-sort recycling facility, and a glimpse of what's ahead.
