Each year, ecomaine’s eco-Excellence Awards honor the individuals, businesses, and groups that are making a real impact on Maine’s environment. These awards spotlight creative, hands-on efforts to reduce waste, encourage recycling and composting, and lead sustainability education in our communities.
Every April 22 we celebrate Earth Day, a time to reflect on our impact on the planet and take action to protect it. While big sustainability initiatives are important, small, everyday choices are often more sustainable and can add up to make a huge difference! At ecomaine, we believe that celebrating Earth Day doesn’t have to be once a year and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are some simple ways to honor the day, everyday:
Spring is here, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to refresh your wardrobe, sustainably! This Earth Day, ecomaine is teaming up with Goodwill Northern New England to host a Clothing Swap at the City of Portland’s Earth Day Celebration in Payson Park on Saturday, April 12, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
