ecomaine on Public Radio & Public Television

PBS Newshour and Maine Public Radio’s Maine Calling reported on the state of recycling in Maine, and asked ecomaine to lend a hand.

ecomaine maintained a robust presence on public media on Sunday and Monday, November 14 and 15, appearing in a nationwide report by the PBS NewsHour, as well as on Maine Public Radio’s Maine Calling call-in program to talk recycling in Maine.

PBS reporter Hari Sreenivasan took a look at the state of the industry, as well as at the new extended producer responsibility legislation in Maine, which seeks to create packaging that is either reduced or made more readily recyclable.

Maine Calling also touched on this legislation, and also ranged from reduce, reuse, repair, and refuse to composting and a look at what’s happened since China’s National Sword policy that sent the markets for recyclables into chaos.
